Banned items!


Skip hire from Skip-Pro is a great option for waste removal in both construction and domestic situations; it’s cost-effective and we will sort and recycle your waste instead of sending it to landfill. However, there is sometimes confusion regarding what can and can’t be put in to a skip - if you’re not sure, please refer to our guide below.

As a general rule, we can’t accept any hazardous, toxic, or highly flammable waste. If you have any queries about specific items you want to dispose of, please check with us before organising your skip hire to avoid disappointment.


Permitted Items
Building waste (bricks, rubble) Soil Garden waste Wood Cardboard and paper Metal Plastic Non-electrical fixtures Furniture Domestic waste Gas cookers Polystyrene Food and its packaging, including tins Bathroom suites WEEE items (electrical items) except for fridges / freezers (although these can be collected too for an extra charge – just let us know)


Banned Items
Batteries – household or vehicle Solvents, including paint or glue Paint tins, unless completely empty Plasterboard Asbestos Medical / clinical waste Fridges / freezers (although we can collect these for an extra charge – just let us know) Tyres Fluorescent Tubes Explosives Compressed gas cylinders or aerosols (even if they’re empty) Liquids or oils Chemicals – bleach, detergent, etc. Light bulbs Any toxic materials


If you need to dispose of any of the items on the Banned list, please contact your local council or local household waste recycling site for advice and further information.
We recommend covering your skip at night if you live in a highly populated area, as neighbours are often tempted to take advantage of the ‘free’ waste disposal service they feel you’re providing the neighbourhood! It is in your best interests to avoid this happening, as they might add items from the Banned list, or overfill your skip.
